Mark Larson Event: January 28 at Open Books

Playwrights Aloud Presents…

An Evening With Mark Larson, Part II

Mark Larson is back with another “Playwrights Aloud Presents…”! This event will take place on Tuesday, January 28th at 6pm at Open Books (651 West Lake Street), featuring an all new panel!

Mark will be interviewing Sandra Delgado (Chicago Dramatists Resident Playwright, and founding ensemble member of Collaboraction), Kristin Idaszak (Chicago Dramatists Resident Playwright, and Artistic Director and co-founder of Cloudgate Theatre), and Sandra Marquez (former Associate Artistic Director of Teatro Vista, and Artistic Associate with Steppenwolf Theatre).  Larson will lead an in-depth chat centering on the question “Why Theater Now?” — what makes this form so vital and alive in our current age, and why is theater so deeply important. Be sure to catch this intimate conversation with some of the most prolific and highly regarded theater artists working in Chicago today.

Mark Larson is the author of Ensemble: An Oral History Of Chicago Theatre. This book is an in-depth, first-of-its-kind history of Chicago’s internationally celebrated theater scene, spanning 65 years and told through first-person accounts from some of the people who made it happen. Mark will be selling signed copies of the book for those interested.

Registration is required for this event, and your registration must be made no later than 11:59pm January 27th. Click here to register for this event.
