Connie Kuntz

As a teacher of Radio Drama, I assist artists in writing and producing “for the ear.” I work to create a safe, interactive space for artists to discuss, write, and share. I believe in acknowledging the pain that comes with writing, recording and producing new work, but also believe in insisting that these risks be taken, especially now amid the novel coronavirus, racial unrest, and gender discrimination.

Connie Kuntz is a Network Member of Chicago Dramatists and regularly contributes to Naked Angels Tuesdays@9 Chicago. She is workshopping plays that explore notorious events that are revered in Illinois. Hotbed is the first in this series. During the day, Connie is a reporter, digital editor, and host of the arts series State of the Artist for 89.5 WNIJ, the NPR station for northern Illinois. Most recently, she wrote plays for Rockford Area Arts Council, was the editor of The Rockford Review from 2010-2019, the president of Rockford Writers’ Guild, and host of the literary podcast Guildy Pleasures. She has also written plays, monologues, and fundraising scripts for a variety of non-profits like Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center, Rockford Dance Company, and Tinker Swiss Cottage. Connie has a bachelor’s degree in theatre from Cornell College.
