Alison Gross has a Master of Education from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Performance from the University of Illinois Chicago. She is a Middle school Drama Teacher in Maywood, IL. Alison is the former House Manager with Blue Man Group and is excited to be working in the theatre community again.

Marsha Estell, The Tutterow Fellowship Program Director
Marsha Estell is a resident playwright alumna at Chicago Dramatists, 2010 3Arts/Ragdale Fellow, and recipient of the Illinois Arts Council Fellowship for Playwriting. Her plays include Heat, which had its world premiere at Chicago Dramatists and was nominated for a Joseph Jefferson Award for Outstanding New Work and many other award-winning work. She is a member of the Dramatists Guild, SAG/AFTRA and Actors Equity.

Linzhuo Zhang, Interim Office Manager
Linzhuo Zhang is a screenwriter and fiction writer. He earned a Bachelor of Laws in Beijing and a Master in Laws from Northwestern University, and is going to start a MFA, screenwriting program in the fall. His past six years of legal training and international background equip him with a unique perspectiveon social issues and dramatic tensions of humanity. He has completed a full-length screenplay entitled Amigo, focusing on Chinese illegal immigration, and has published several fictions in China.

Maria Welser, First Draft Facilitator
Maria Welser is a theatre artist from Old Town, Chicago. Currently. She is lucky to study playwriting with The New Colony’s Writers’ Room and the Jackalope Theatre Playwrights’ Lab. This spring, she will perform with the City Lit Theatre in their production of Two Day at Courtand this summer will tour with Compass Creative Dramatics as a performer and teaching artist. She is a finalist with the Normal Avenue Theatre Company’s New Play Series. She has aspirations to write and perform stories of magical realism and moral-existentialism. She taught musical theatre at Allegro Music and Dance Academy and at Skyline Studios, and currently works at the Contemporary Preschool as an Infant Teacher. She has toured with the Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival and the Windy City Players. In the summer of 2017, she directed and choreographed Anything Goeswith The Summer Place Theatre in Naperville. Her previous written works include a staged reading of Unlockedat the 2013 Goodman Theatre’s Latino Theatre Festival Ten Minute Play Competition, and staged readings ofI like you so muchand Trustin two of the Eclectic Theatre’s 24-hour play festivals.

Kevin Marz, Bookkeeper & Financial Analyst
Kevin is currently majoring in Finance, Business and Leadership at Arizona State University. He is looking forward to graduating in the Spring of 2019. Kevin has experience working in several different industries from corporate to manufacturing, and he is excited to enter the world of arts administration at Chicago Dramatists.
