Ten Min Workshop (10/16/2010)

Country singer Hewitt Finley has shot himself in the head and his daughter, Roby, is hitting the road, hoping to leave behind her failed music career and the boyfriend who can’t say her name. With a folding chair handcuffed to one hand and a guitar case full of stolen cash in the other, Roby hitchhikes her way home to Burkeville, Texas to save her heart-sick little sister. Roby’s twin, Dad’s mistress, and the owner of the cash all end up on the Finley porch to fight over Dad’s royalties and their hatred of the song that made him famous.
An offbeat comedy from a time when a dime could buy you a phone call home, Ten Cent Night plays like a classic country song. With the Texas landscape behind them, four siblings are forced to come together in the place none of them want to call home and confront the realities they have been trying to avoid. Can they move beyond their rivalries or will their past differences drive them apart? Funny and unsettling, Ten Cent Night explores the nature of family, and whether it is possible to love your family too much..
