Writing the Half-Hour Comedy Pilot 3 ONLINE Instructor: Resident Playwright & TV writer Zina Camblin
Go inside the writers room in this advanced-level writing course. You will give and receive feedback, pitches, punch ups, and notes on scenes or acts of your half-hour pilot—learning the process a writer goes through in a writers’ room. Your full pilot will be read by two professional actors, later receiving targeted feedback exploring patterns and novelties. Access to script writing software such as Final Draft, Celtx, Scrivener, etc., is required.
Prerequisites: Writing the Half-Hour Comedy Pilot 1 and 2
Where: On-line using Zoom or Google Hangouts. You will receive instructions on how to access the meeting site prior to class. You must have a solid internet connection along with a computer with working speakers so you can hear and a microphone so that the class and instructor can hear you. A working camera is a bonus, but not 100% necessary. Pdfs will be shared via email or GoogleDocs prior to class, and some scenes will be read during class. You are expected to access class from a quiet place with limited interruptions and distractions. The instructor will contact you in the week before the class to do a "tech check" and make sure everyone can connect.
