"Weekend Warrior" Solo Show and Storytelling Foundations Workshop

Instructor: Resident Playwright Arlene Malinowski

This "weekend warrior" class is designed for actors, playwrights, solo artists, and storytellers of all levels – from those who are thinking about writing a one-person show or narrative story to those who are in the final stages of polishing one.

This hands-on workshop will focus on solo and storytelling fundamentals: (1) finding your voice and the voice of the story; (2) designing the solo story plot structure; (3) techniques to manipulate the storyteller/audience relationship; (4) character development and writing multiple character scenes; (5) The 13 styles of solo pieces; and (6) creative and nontraditional use of timelines, plot lines, and stories.

Participants may choose to bring to the first session: 5-7 minutes of a solo show/story, or even just an idea for a one-person show. This class is designed to serve you and your personal creative goals. We will have big fun!
