The About—Screenwriting Workshop
The About is a deep and entertaining dive into learning the single most important principle of effective scriptwriting for film & TV. You will learn to identify the intellectual and emotional heart of a script, its point of view and its truth, which is the indispensable foundation for all other script elements. It is scriptwriting “from the content up” and will have you looking at scripts and writing in a whole new way. The About will demonstrate how the best film & TV writers use this principle to create a great script and then help you apply this principle in your own writing. This highly original but practical course is currently offered exclusively this Fall through Chicago Dramatists. The About provides a superior, efficient and focused means to plan & execute a script. Whether you are contemplating your first script or consider yourself a more advanced writer, The About course provides essential guidance for crafting a significantly more creative and professional script.
